not at all. WooHoo! Damn, I LOVE seeing the Eagles lose!! Almost as much as I love seeing the Redskins lose.
pass interference, ftw
.
Sure looked like it to me. Can the coach throw the instant replay flag for a missed penalty, or is that off limits?
Spot
You guys will be relevant again soon, I hear Romo is going to drop Jessica.
pass interference, ftw
It was close, but could have gone either way. Looked like incidental contact to me! I’m personally glad they didn’t call it as they let them play the game for the most part and were pretty good with most of the calls. If you think that cost them the game, go back to the blown call when the ref blew the kickoff out of bounds that the Cardinals recovered and should have had at deep in Philly territory. It all evens out…
Living in Philly forever condemned me to dislike their teams. This one is no exception. Good for the Cards.
There are blown calls all game. That could have been flagged and I would have understood why. Curtis needs to make that play. A pro bowl wr finds a way to make that play. A good one drops the ball then calls for the flag.

What’s the over/under on when the Philly fans and media start calling for the Iggles to get rid of Reid and McNabb?
No, no. I mean since the Eagles started on their playoff run.
God is on Kurt Warner’s side.
dude. not cool.
No, no. I mean since the Eagles started on their playoff run.
I don’t listen to sports radio, but I’ve wanted McNabb to go for a while now. This recent playoff run actually bothered me because it was just enough to keep the Eagles from doing what they need to for the future of the team.
Watching that game today, I think Jeff Garcia or any moderately competent QB could have won it. McNabb has bad accuracy, sub par field awareness, makes bad decisions during the game, and has never been able to manage the clock. This used to be a reasonable trade-off back when he was a serious threat to run. Now that he’s no more mobile than the rest, why do we have him?
Watching this game at the end I remember thinking, “Okay…here comes the 2 minute drill. Oh wait…that was Cunningham. McNabb will probably blow 40 seconds between each play.” Granted, that didn’t happen, but there was good reason to expect it.
At least you’re not doing a “b-b-b-b-but the Cowboys!” ![]()
.
I think Eagles’ fans started with wanting McNabb gone on the day he was drafted. Don’t sweat it too much D-Nabb, the Philly “faithful”, boo’d Mike Schmidt.
Philly won 9 games and made it to within a quarter of the SB. What a failure. grin
I do understand the idea that success this year may push back moving on to the “next chapter”. But, still, ya made it to the NFC championship game and had the lead going in to the 4th. Philly should ben able to hold the lead given how well the d was playing in the 2nd half, up until well, y’know.
What’s with the McNabb hate? The Eagles have made the NFC championship like 5 times in the last 8 years, and been to a Super Bowl. What other team has had that kind of success besides the Patriots?
McNabb has a pretty good TD to int ratio over his career. He’s got a better than .500 record in the playoffs. He’s got nearly 30k yds over his career, and he’s almost never had big time help. The guy is a borderline hall of famer. I’m not sure why Philly fans hate him so much except for that, well, they’re Philly fans and they’re just bitchy about everything.
McNabb didn’t lose that game. The defense did. He threw that ball for 375 yards and 3 td’s. Never mind he spend most of the first half on his back or running. McNabb threw for 100 yards more than Warner most of it in the 2nd half when they HAD to throw the ball. He sat back and found the open guy. Had Curtis hung onto that ball like he should have this could have been a way different game.
I truly hope NcNabb leaves Philly. You guys deserve a piece of shit QB there.
I agree. Instead of making the MLB playoffs due to a team choking … and then going on to win the WS. And instead of making the playoffs due to two teams losing on the last week, and the Eagles making the playoffs, and going to the NFC title game … Philly fans deserve to have the team that “chokes” … at least then they’d be miserably happy … y’know like Boston fans used to be.

I mean, geez, I’m all for competitive fans, but Philly seems to take pleasure in hating all of their teams/players. Get some perspective folks.
When you guys grew up as sports fans, I bet you’d never predict that your opinions would be dictated by Deion Sanders and the same 30 unemployable douch-bags who call in to WIP to complain every week. This town voted McNabb as the BEST QB in franchise history in an Inquirer poll. 10 guys get revved up by our idiot Mayor at the draft and boo because we didn’t draft Ricky Williams and all of a sudden “The Philly fans boo’d McNabb at the draft.” This is the same mayor who payed people in his section to throw snowballs at Santa Clause when he was the District Attorney.
The fact is that McNabb played well enough to win that game, and when your greatest strength (defense) becomes your greatest weakness, you’re just not going to win. The silent majority here in Philadelphia realizes this, regardless of how many calls the very loud minority makes to WIP.
A lot of people argue that McNabb’s lack of accuracy is what drives the criticism. For every great play he makes, he makes 3 bad throws that make winning the game harder than it needs to be. And they say things “Manning or Brady would never miss throws like that.” This criticism always makes me laugh, as it takes a real genius to say that our football team would be better if we had Tom Brady or Peyton Manning. These guys don’t grow on trees, and if you’re not sophisticated enough to see that there are only 5 or 6 quarterbacks in this entire world who we’d be better off with and that we’ll NEVER GET THESE GUYS then you don’t deserve a winner.
And that’s the silver lining I’ve always had when we’ve lost. “At least all those miserable fans are getting what they deserve.” But let me tell you, as someone who lives here, and tries to tolerate a few minutes of talk radio each week, that this city appreciates what this team was able to do.
We’re not the Cardinals fans, who gave up on their team and needed an extension just to get the game broadcasted on TV because they couldn’t sell out the game against the Falcons. But the team deserved to win, and I am officially on the Larry Fitzgerald bandwagon. It’s about time this league got a flamboyant WR who isn’t a selfish diva to root for.
I listed above my problems with McNabb. The reason why Philly fans want him gone is because they actually watch most of the games he plays. You won’t hear fans complain about Westbrook. You won’t hear them complain about John Runyon. You won’t hear them complain about Dawkins. There’s a reason for that. Everyone who doesn’t pay close attention to Philly seems to love McNabb because they see these big numbers that he puts up. What they don’t see is all the choking. They probably don’t notice the fact that in 2 of 3 of McNabb’s big injuries, the team played better with the backup…MUCH better.
I remember watching the season that Garcia saved for the Eagles, winning 5 in a row to get them to the playoffs. He did absolutely nothing that would impress anyone. All of you non-Eagles fans would think of him as mediocre compared to McNabb. But you know what he did do? He made simple, high percentage plays throughout the game. That’s where McNabb falls apart. He gets a guy open down field with three yards on his man and throws it over the wrong shoulde. He gets a guy cutting across the middle wide open with the endzone in front of him and throw it behind him. He gets another guy wide open in the middle with the endzone in front and hits him in the shoelaces.
