I cant believe that the P3C release is not getting more press

We had one hit a shop yesterday and there were only 2 threads?? What is going on out there - is everyone out training? The whole winter was spent lusting after this thing and now that they are out…not much doing?

I wonder if the price will drop soon - I can got to about $1100 ; )

Perhaps because it is only marginally faster than it’s aluminum ancestor, it’s more expensive, and perhaps because people are finally realizing that looks aren’t everything?

That is definitely not it.

You’re right: I’m sure people here are still obsessed with looks.

That’s because all the hype surrounding Cervelo bikes in this forum is going back to normal levels…

Until we see pictures, it’s still vaporware.

With all the hype regarding when it will finally show up, maybe it will be a bit anti-climatic when it finally does.

Pictures? Try here:

I was in there yesterday and saw it getting built up. I didn’t think it was that much more impressive than the P3SL sitting next to it. However, if you want a carbon Cervelo, it’s the bike for you!

That is a nice lookin’ machine… Now… if only they’d start shipping the big sizes… and if only my wife would let me spend $5000 on a bike.

Dude,

Who’s money is it anyway?

Well… if she divorces me… it’ll be HER money.

Well, Cervelo announced the bike in September '04, said when it would be out, and it came out right on schedule.

Situation normal. Not much fanfare. The bike itself will be interesting to see in person though.

That was my point - it is now out or seemingly close to being out and no fanfare. I thought that pics of the release would stimulate views akin to the hottie thread.

I think you need to see it built up with race wheels. That’s what we are so used to seeing the prototype with. The final build had a set of Z-8’s, but throw on the Z-9 disk and the Z8 front for some more lust. The bike is a bad MO FO, and to hear Phil White talk about the differences between it and the P3SL warrants the increase in price.

I love my P3 SL, and I am not jumping on the carbon immediately, but when I have the money, it will be mine. My only worry is that I will be too concerned about scratching it. Thats one reason that I like the anodized finish on the P3 SL. Not bombproof, but tough.

We have had people coming by now for the last two days to gaze in wonder at what Cervelo has wrought. If you are in Austin, you’re welcome to come by the shop and take it for a spin.

We see all the nice bikes by all the manufacturers here. The P3C is definately the nicest.
This one will be raced in two weeks in College Station at the Trio de Mayo. Probably not a lot of fanfare there for its debut race (although Chan McCrae and Brandon Marsh raced there last year).

I’ll have more pictures up later today.

It’s just another carbon bike frame. They’re a dime-a-dozen.

To be honest, it’s kinda funny looking to me. I like the clean lines on the P3 or P3-SL more.

Yeah, if only they could have made it as elegant as an Aegis T2.
