I blew out my Zipp 404 what now?

Three year old 404 wheel hit a hole and the carbon is all cracked. How do you go about getting a replacement wheel? Anyone been through this before?
Thanks
J

contact zipp, theyll probably sell you one for like cost or wholesale or something if you can prove you are the original owner and its not an ebay purchass.

it happens…a friend did the same with a 303 front this weekend and is going through the shop to get a new one.

Haven’t had to do it myself yet, but this is from the Zipp website:

“In the case where your product is within the warranty period, but is damaged either by yourself or in a race accident, etc., we have a No Fault/Crash Replacement Policy. This policy covers a 5 year period following the purchase date of your product. We will require you to call and obtain an RA# in this situation and return the product to us. You are then able to purchase a brand new product for a reduced price to replace your damaged product. We can quote the price to you when you call.”

Their number is 1-800-472-3972 • Monday - Friday 8a.m. to 5p.m (E.D.T.)

Give the customer service folks a call. It is a pretty quick and relatively painless process.

thanks for the advice
.

I had the same thing happen with a 1-year old 404. I called Zipp customer service and they were great. I sent the wheel back and using their “crash replacement policy” I got it back in perfect condition for about $270, I think. Much better than the $800 plus for a new one. I’ve had the replacement for 3 year now and no problems at all.

Good luck.

Chris.

Hope you have around $400 to spare…
