I am not seeing ANY POSE techniques in Olympics

I’ve been watching the 400m preliminaries. Why aren’t these guys in the POSE? How fast would they be if they consulted the good doc romanov?

Dude, you better look again specially the longer distance runners because many of them are all POSE. Look at where the feet are landing and how the trailing leg is lifted right underneath them. No heel striking either.

But in the 400, the guys are nearly leaning backwards. Did you see Wariner? Shouldn’t we be basing our form after the fastest guys.

I suggest you are wrong in 2 important respects.

First, more likely than not, many/most olympic runners will exhibit some pose-like tendencies. Some may well not as they are all gifted runners that have developed their own style. If it aint broke, dont fix it. Its like suggesting Phelps might want to consult Laughlin. He doesn’t need to, and so the variety of running styles at the top says nothing about what might be the best running style for those at the bottom to aspire to.

Second, it is not supremely gifted runners who consult Romanov (and other running coaches), but rather Romanov (and other running coaches) who examine them to determine why it is that they can run so fast so effortlessly. He then distils this into principles and features common to the majority or most efficient of these runners, developed a pedagogic “system” based on this research, and then sells this system to the masses. But there is nothing proprietary about POSE running style itself, just in the methodology of how it is taught. Just because he trademarked a name it doesnt mean that he dreamed up a whole new way of locomotion. Now his system may be more or less effective as a pedagogic device. Certainly not all people will need or like it. But some do like it, as evidenced by its continued popularity.

It should be a live and let live affair. If you are unhappy with your running technique and/or performance, PoseTech may be useful for you, it may not.

Damn I said I wasn’t going to post anymore about Pose!

Excellent points. Running techniques like POSE and swimming like TI are developed for those athletes who are not naturally gifted/elite athletes. If someone is in the olymipics, clearly they are doing something right. They don’t need to subscribe to some outside party to teach them how to run/swim fast.

In the 10K a lot of them were airborne between strides. Naughty, naughty Ethiopians and Kenyans.
