haha. what i have been telling myself re training for a while. altho i’m not really sure what ‘serious’ is considering what i was doing a month or so ago. i guess my weekend days will go back to training all day???
I am going to get serious one week after you get serious and one week after that, I’ll get really serious and one week after that, I’ll start training again.
Sooo that’s the week before Coronado? Dude why were you holding out on me the info obout the chicks in the weight room?
You have heard of the “Reverse Taper” as perfected Mitch Gold, right? The theory being you really should not taper too much before an important race because the body is used to training, not tapering… so why interrupt your training groove with extended rest? Mitch can support his theory with some very impressive race results.
I am taking Mitch’s theory in a new direction and I am calling it “Reverse Training.” My theory is that you should do almost nothing until one week before your “A” race and in the 7 days before the race, do all sorts of crazy shit like Mega Bricks, 10000 meter swims, Max intensity track workouts…basically thrash yourself as hard as you can…and then race.
This new training idea will allow you to put maximum emphasis on your social life in the 3 weeks leading up to your max training week. It is during this three week ‘prepare to train/I’m about to get serious’ timeframe, that you can focus on the really important issues such as*; ‘Are there more chicks on the treadmills or by the free weights and where will I have the greatest chance of success in working my seductive charm?’* and *‘If I am in the weight room with lots of hot chicks but the hottest of all chicks gets on a treadmill, should I stop what I’m doing and run on the vacant treadmill next to her?’ *Any training that you get in this 3 week block is done solely for the advancement of your romance goals and nothing more.
So, I am talking about balance here; Mediocre race results with minimum effort and superior results in the gym with a similar marginal effort. If you were not married, I would be happy to coach you and even give you a discount because you’re a pretty cool dude.
my diet always starts tomorrow.
