I have a question, is the format the exact same each competition? And are all the weight stuff handicapped for your size or sex? Do the pros do something different from the AG’ers??

Just trying to figure out if comparing times from different events is even applicable..

Yes it’s always the same. However transitions and setups etc could be a little different I think so it’s not a perfect comparison. And of course time of year, location etc even though it’s indoors can still affect. But it’s pretty comparable.

Good to know, so the 220lb 5% male is doing the same weight as the 90lb female, or 70 year old man?? That seems like the weights would have be be super light to cover all categories.

there is different pro weights
and also female and male weights

That makes sense, do they have body weight categories like in boxing or wrestling? Like Athena divisions? And do all age groups do the same weights too, old men and ladies doing the same at 30 year olds? Just trying to make sense of the sport overall..

Pro and male/female and open AG male/female.

These guys explain it pretty well

The biggest issues facing the “equality of standards” in Hyrox are the surface of the carpet in the sled push from venue to venue and the lax applications of Wall Ball standards across the board.

Thanks for that vid, it explained it pretty well. The team thing was super interesting, seems like a lot of different strategies could be employed and can be quite complicated. I like thinking sports.

Just wondering if this 70 year old man could get through one of these. I like that it would implore me to join a gym and go at least 3 times a week. I know I should lift more than I do now, just need some motivation. But can I throw that ball high enough, push the sled, or pull on the rope hard enough? I know I can still run pretty well for my age, that seems to be the hardest part for a lot of folks that are bulked up..

I am sure you could. Find a buddy and give it a go as a duo.

Reece giving it a go..

“Maybe I’ll bring Lucy”.

Interesting shoe choice. Very sure I wouldn’t go with a carbon plated high stack shoe. Doubles is definitely the way to go with this otherwise it’s just a bunch of shirtless sweaty dudes.
