What!? no more Hybrid Rockstar?
Hyathlon - Sounds like an Uncle Roger extended video… (only the Brits will get this)

Anti-Doping Programs for new discipline
World Triathlon and ITA will collaborate to design a comprehensive Anti-Doping programme aimed at supporting the effective integration of Hyathlon within a structured and compliant framework, the implementation of which is aimed to roll-out from 2027 onwards.
No hurry, then. I’d have thought they’d have a list of the top 20 hyathletes and just bang them on the World Tri RTP. Job done. Framework?
Word soup: comprehensive; aimed at, supporting, effective, structured, compliant, from.
Not an expert on food, but I thought it was called a word salad?
(Need to start an argument. This thread has built too tight a consensus too soon.)
Fitness racing would have likely been inclusive of Crossfit I guess.
Since Functional Fitness is the term that gets used in this genre, I think they should call it a Functathlon.
Since we’re making up names, can we get the bonus “a” in there from the get go. Everybody knows it’s going to be Hyathalon

Since there’s no ‘fun’ in Functional Fitness maybe they could drop the ‘n’ in Functathlon.

I met a Hyrox athlete recently. The only person i‘ve met in years who said he trains more than a triathlete. Luckily my wife was there & heard it, so everytime she complains now, I can say „be grateful I don‘t do Hyrox“. Now I can also say „be happy you don‘t have to tell people I‘m a Hytathlete“ ![]()

I’m in for a Funktathlon or a Fuctathlon, but no thanks on Functathlon.

This seems like a sport that should just be left to its own devices. IMO let the dopers have it as a playspace where they can engage with others. I think the retired athletes on “TRT” need a space to exercise their competitive spirits so they don’t fraudulently compete in tested sports.
I don’t think every fitness event under the sun needs a governing body, pedantic rules, power hungry officials, and anti-doping programs.
if anything “let the trt people dope” encourages others to do the same. (just as you see in the bodybuilding world). This event is attracting a lot of people due to standardization, ability to be held anywhere in the world with out weather canceling the event, etc. Most the training can be done without specialized equipment too.

So exciting
It is a fast-growing indoor fitness competition targeting a potential market of 240 million global gym junkies. Read more at straitstimes.com. Read more at straitstimes.com.
wanda seems to be happier with hyrox than ironman.
20 000 participants in Hong Kong is wild.
I’m not sure the umber of participants in Arizona, but to accomplish what they did they rented State Farm Stadium out for three days…so I don’t think the numbers work out that well.
