Hyper-Aggro Swimmers

Now, I don’t mean to rant, but I just got back from the pool and thought I would ask the following:

What do you think of those swimmers who feel the need to literally “make an entrance” when they enter the pool? I am referring to those individuals that dive into the pool (notwithstanding that it’s four feet deep and there are multiple “no diving” signs) and make a splash larger than if they did a cannonball, then proceed to “sprint” for the first 15 yards, kicking so aggressively that you’d think they were competing to create the foam on a cappucino.

Just thought I’d share. Any thoughts?

Unless they dive right on top of me, I soooooo don’t care. Why do you?

my Lab does that too.

Never bothered me.

Normally, I don’t, but I must be in bad mood today because it annoyed me so I thought I would ask.

Sorry, I didn’t think you saw that. I was practicing my tri starts. I will be more mindful in the future.

It is all about ritual, plus there is nothing worse then getting into the pool. The water is always cold. It is a total shock to the body.

I do this because it seems to help with the transition from being warm and comfy to wet and cold. It is like bitting down on a bullet while they cut off your arm. The key is diversion.

I am developing this skill, this mental skill, where idiots are invisible to me. You should try it, because it is very helpful and makes your life so much better.

I started doing this with the people from my National Federation, but you can start with whoever you’d like.

Try it, because it works!

yeah first 15 is usually a lil hard cos water is cold. diving into a 4 ft pool is a piece of piss.

very useful skill on the roads…

So, what does it feel like to be the last human on Earth?
