Hygene -bike bacterial petri dish prevention

I have a VT FSA basebar and armrests. Given summer temps where I am, thrown in with several long rides, the armrests are dripping with sweat afterwords and I’m sure you could ring them out quite litterally after the ride. Can I throw them (the armrests pads, not the basebar for you smart@$$es out there) in the washing machine or does anyone wash them by hand and air-dry? Should I be using some sort of antibacterial spray (lysol even)?

I would just replace them on a regular basis. They don’t cost too much.

I have hand washed and air dried mine on several occasions - just take them off the velcro. I use simple green

SNIFF THEM!

Maybe they’re not so bad!

hahahahaha

Be careful Francois might try to sniff them.

That’s good. Really good laugh.

OK, better yet, TSR them to Record10 - I’ll bet he would love to receive a box full of smelly F-19 arm rests…

And old neoprene seatpads…hell, maybe could get some from the spinning bike classes.
