There’s a podcast out there called “Ben Greenfield Fitness” he recommends intermittent fasting and unfed cardio. I’ve done it and it works, so long as your not in a build phase of your training plan you’ll be fine. Some will say this is crazy to do, he recommends it and does it himself and I can see why. It’s recommended that you do 4 days a week of intermittent fasting, which is after dinner around say 7pm you don’t eat anything until about 9am the next morning. Then 2 of those days you jump on your bike and do 30-60 minutes of riding at a moderate pace. Then eat normally the other days and try and keep your diet as clean as possible. If you doubt his knowledge on the subject he is an Ironman who is fast enough to qualify for Kona, and if you listen to his podcast I guarantee you’ll learn more than a few things.
