thoughts on which one is better? Need something for training only…
If it’s only for training, get a Profile Aquarack ($40 with cages) and save some $$.
The aluminum h.5 is only $45 at my LBS.
xlab… less bulky IMO plus you can get the bottles to lay flatter reducing the possibility for ejection (think vectors).
I was hit and flipped the bike and force sheared the aluminum on the hydrotail but that was all… then after went with the xlab.

x2 on Sonic Wing. I recently faced this same decision and went into my LBS determined to go with the Hydrotail. After looking at the design of both and talking over the bottle ejection and reliability & installation issues with both, the x-lab became the best choice. No issues so far, and I ride on some pretty rough roads.
