Hydration Question: Training

Any benefit to training on less fluids- so body is used to it in a race? I drink alot of water throughout the day, so I feel I am pretty well hydrated… 1 hour training run or bike I don’t take any H2O- even in hot weather- am I compromising a workout or is it ok? I hate carrying things on runs…Racing- for a sprint tri, I don’t drink at all during. Olympic dist I have about 16 ounces on the bike…any thoughts? Just curious…

Nope, no need physiologically. Get too dehydrated and you will decrease the effectiveness of the workout.

Rule of thumb is a 2% loss of body weight from sweat is the most you want to lose in a workout.
