I would like to use my sports drink for all of my calories on the bike for a 1/2 IM. For me that is about 3 hours or 3 bottles. I currently have two bottle cages behind the seat on the bike. Several alternatives 1) add another bottle cage on the down tube or use a handlebar mounted bottle (solves the problem, but adds some weight) 2) Fill one bottle with a concentrated solution with enough calories for the whole ride and the other with water (if I do this, do I have to drink from both bottles each time I take a drink or can I alternate every 15 minutes or so - probably the former as the latter would make the concentration in my stomach fluctuate) 3) Mix double strength in one bottle and regular in the other - then split the concentrate when the first bottle is empty and fill them both up with water. 4) Mix a single concentrated bottle and regular solution in my handlebar mounted system, then fill the aero bottle with concentrate and water at aid stations. Any thoughts on which works best and makes it easiest to stay properly hydrated. Thanks
