Triathlon fans who can’t make it to West Des Moines can still catch all the action from the Hy-Vee Triathlon on their computers or web-enabled telephones.
Hy-veetriathon.com will carry a live stream of all events, from Saturday’s junior, youth and kids races to Sunday’s age-group contest and elite cup contests for men and women.
The action begins Saturday at 7 a.m., when 16- and 17-year-olds hit the water at Blue Heron Lake in Raccoon River Park. The competition wraps up Sunday at 3 p.m. with the highly anticipated elite men’s event, featuring the defending champion, Canadian Simon Whitfield, and Russian Alexander Brukhankov, the points leader in the International Triathlon Union’s world championship series.
