I don’t know. Maybe Tom Demerly has been belted by gamma rays. Compare that picture to some on www.bikesportmichigan.com. In particular, look at his “ultimate stupidity” and “waiting” editorials.
There was a guy even bigger than him at one sprint tri we did. He was huge, probably 260-280 lbs and about 6’4" and obviously a heavyweight body builder who would have been more at home in a Mr. Olympia contest than a tri. It was his first tri and he was obviously out of his element but you’ve got to admire him for getting out and participating.
