HRM Battery

I have a Polar S510, and was wondering if any of you guys have experience changing the battery out, because mine is dead. I know it voids the warranty, but i’ve had the watch for 3 years so that’s expired anywho.

My comp. isn’t allowing me to download the manual, so if you could also help out with what battery I need, I would appreciate it. I have a 2032, but not sure if that’s the right one.

a thank you

My 510 did not use a 2032, it was something like a 2354, thicker than a normal 2032. Just unscrew the back and you’ll be able to see. I had a tough time finding a replacement though as my local Radio Shack said they couldn’t even order me one. When putting the case back together just make sure the seal is clean and tighten the 4 screws evenly.

egan,

There are a couple of other threads on this topic (at least one in the last couple of weeks). I’ve changed the battery on both of my Polar HRMs more than once. Its easy. You will save yourself some time if you are careful to not unseat the rubber seal when you remove the cover (it takes a while to fit it back in if you unseat it).

I can’t remember the battery number, but I can tell you it is hard to find. If you have a Batteries Plus store nearby, they are a sure thing. Unfortunately, they do not sell batteries online (although their website will direct you to the closest store).
