I may soon have an opportunity to relocate from the Mid-West to Wilmington, NC. I would appreciate any input on what it is like to live there. I do have family, including 2 kids and one dog, so any input from that perspective would be welcome.
Obviously the weather is a benefit, especially in winter (and ignoring the hurricanes). How are roads/trails for running and riding? How is traffic?

I live a couple of hours away, but get there as often as possible. There are many races in the area, including the potential for a non m-dot iron distance race next October.
Most of the people I know who live there love it, but be aware that it is a tourist destination so every weekend, spring break and summer will be filled with tourists. That has an impact on traffic on the main areas, so you’ll want to be careful about your route to and from work.
