Help needed: I’m going to an all-women’s mtn bike clinic being put on by a pro triathlete this weekend. I am meeting with the organizer to talk about sponsoring future clinics and I wouldn’t mind connecting with the pro triathlete.
I don’t know anything about sponsorship deals… my idea was to provide a bag full of freebies to the clinic participants with stuff from my web store. Should I be offering financial support for the clinic (I’m not profitable at this point). What about sponsoring a pro triathlete? Would I need to offer cash money for races or are freebies good enough?
FYI: I have a small online business selling handmade hats, bags, etc. embroidered with fun sayings that are generally targeted toward triathletes.
offer what you can offer.
since you sell products, maybe you could do a raffle where you have a bag full of your best products. have a time where you’ll be giving away the stuff, do a drawing (you’ll have a captive audience where they’ll be waiting for the drawing) and make a big deal for the winner. if you can swing it get some promotional water bottles printed up and give one away to everyone else, or those who are in attendance of the raffel. this won’t cost you much. but if it’s cheaper for you to give a hat to everyone, or a small bag then do it. this would be great for business and could be the highlight of a goodie bag.
I like the raffle idea for several reasons, thanks for sharing. I could raffle off a bag o-stuff and then give mini-freebies to everyone. Yeah yeah yeah.
Thanks kittycat.
exactly. you could also put in a coupon to help drive business after the event–free delivery after 35.00 spent, or 10% off after 35 or 40 dollars spent, something like this so they have an incentive to buy later.
BTW, your fabrics are cool and I really like them. when i went to your sight i thought about you having a “signature fabric” so that your brand is recognizable right away–(personally I love that hot pink with the white flowers). similar to how bianchi has the celeste color–it’s the signature paint for the brand. The plaid fabric for burberry, the LV canvas for Louis Vutton, etc. anyway, i don’t know if you’re designing the pieces yourself, but it could allow you to buy fabric or the items themselves in bulk and get even more of a discount. just ideas.
good luck this weekend!!
Coupons! Yeah! Another good idea.
I would love to have a signature fabric but will have to wait a year or so to make sure this is going to work out. I still have a full time job while doing this and I want to be sure I enjoy it after a few years before I totally invest myself in it.
Thanks for you feedback! BTW, I make fun cat toys out of fleece scraps so I will have to send you some toys for your babies. If you email me tribabe@gmail.com your address I will mail them to you.
