How to get bike grease out of auto carpet?

I suppose you could try dish soap since they advertise it as cutting grease… I’ve used it to get grease off clothing before.

I generally clean my hands with WD40 and then use dish soap to get the WD40 off… Not sure what WD40 will do to your carpet though…

Huggies, baby wipes. They clean everything. Makes me wonder how good they are for babies though.

I bought some all purpose degreaser (the orange stuff) at Home Depot. Worked like a charm.

Ahh, yes…1,1,1-Trichloroethane…I’m sure he’s got a beaker-full under his fume hood!

I’ve used a combination of dish detergant, Nature’s Miracle, and citrus degreaser with success. Just be careful with the citrus stuff - it can change the carpets’ color if you go too crazy.

And whatever you use, always remember the first and most important step. Do everything, and I mean everything, in your power to keep your wife from seeing it!!

I’ll second orange hand cleaner. Rub a bit in… smoosh it around and wash it out really well. Smell goes away in a few days, but hey, oranges aren’t that bad. Make sure you get the stuff without pumice!

there is a product you can get at the grocery store called spot shot. takes it right up

Huh? No wife? Then what-in-the-hell you worried about? Just cover the spot with empty bottles of gatorade and pizza boxes.

Let’s just say that if I had a wife, I would be the neat freak of the couple and I would probably be getting onto her for not picking up after herself.

Second or third for the Spot Shot, haven’t found anything it couldn’t take out yet. And I would be the messy roommate that you hate.
