I live in Kansas City and I don’t believe that there are any places here that sell wet suits.
I am 6’4" and am willing to spend what it takes to get a good suit, but I am not interested in screwing around with renting different ones and finding out the hard way that they won’t fit or work.
Any suggestions?
(just by chance if you have one that fits you and you are my size, here are my measurements: 6’4" tall, 34" inseam pants, 35" waist. wear 42XL suit)
The best way to find a wetsuit that works for you is to try them on for size & take 'em for a test swim, yes it’s time consuming and in some cases labourious.
Like you, no wetsuit store nearby and did not want to rent to try them out. I pretty much went by the sizing chart given by the manufacturer and then looked up reviews to see how people rated the fit. Ebayed the suit from a user with a decent return policy in case it didn’t fit.
Desoto has excellent excellent customer service. You give them the right measurements, they WILL get you the right suit. With the two piece, fit is even easier.
I just went with a Desoto for simplicity of fit also. Having wide shoulders made it difficult finding a suit that fit an otherwise skinny build. Being able to mix/match the sizes really made things easier with the Desoto.
