My shoes (Sidi Ergo 1 w/custom insole) stink REALLY bad after the Triple Bypass (let them bake in the sun yesterday).
Aside from spraying with Lysol or vinegar, any tips?

An addendum, if you don’t mind Diesel; how do you de stink any sweat wicking clothing? After a while the stink seems to become permanent.
When they get that bad I take the cleats off, draw a sink of hot water and laundry detergent, take out the insoles and wash them, and then scrub them down.
It may have some marginal impact on their lifespan but their comes a time when it must be done.
go for a century ride in the pouring rain.
Seemed to work for me.

3 ways have worked for me
freeze them in your frig.
spray them with an enzyme based cleaning solution - you can find it at professional cleaning supply stores.
cheapest and just as effective… spray them with Lysol after every wear… why you wouldn’t want to spray them with Lysol is beyond me…

Hi… I used to work at a climbing gym, and we used a product called “Enbac” by Johnson and Johnson. It’s hard to find–try industial cleaning supply stores. It’s an aerosol that completely de-stank climbing shoes which are soft leather against bare skin.
As an aside, don’t rent shoes at climbing gyms!!
For clothing, there is a product you can find at hiking stores called enzyte that you mix up and soak all your stuff in. It’s safe for nylon and poly.
sprinkle baking soda inside.
Toss them in the washing machine. I set it to “medium,” use half the detergent I would for a normal load, and all cold water. They’ll air dry in less than 24 hours after that.
Works like a charm, and not only do they no longer stink, they no longer have dirt and grime on them either.
