Saw Lisa Bentley today. It appears she has been really working on her tan in order to avoid stopping to put on sun screen in transition. No one would ever guess she is Canadian.
i had a mole cut off my head behind my ear this summer, a few days after my “A” race. my mom had a huge tumor cut off her scalp (squamous) - i think i’ll take the time penalty.

p.s - have you ever noticed how OLD some of these pros look? with all due respect, many of them are beautiful/handsome people with incredible bodies, but faces like hand-me-down saddlebags.
Frank, as you know, my so called “tan” is above average, but I have found for long events, although I will never likely have a sunburn (I’ve only had one in my life), putting on sunscrean seems to result in a lot less “sun induced” fatigue. This might be placebo affect, but on hot sunny days when I forget the sunscrean, I have a tougher time with the “solar load”
Call me young, stupid, or all of the above, but I skip the screen cept for the schnoz when I get here (1.5 weeks ago) so that I won’t look like too much of a haole on race day. Madam Pele doesn’t really like Haole’s too much, I think that’s why she beat down Peter and Tim, but she sure likes that Norman guy. Must be the tan skin
