How strong is a repaired wetsuit?

I found a used Ironman Stealth wetsuit for my wife but it has some damage along a couple of seams. The owner has offered to repair it for me but I am wondering how strong the repaired areas will be. The damaged seams are in a pretty high-stress area (in the back just above the bum).

Assuming the wetsuit is in good shape otherwise and the fit is appropriate should I be worried about future damage or repair failures?

Thanks for the help,
robert

If professionally repared it will be as strong as new (or even stronger if the damage was caused by a manifacture weakness).

But a poor repair…

An other problem is that the neoprene gets weaker after some years, if the damage is a result of general aging, more damages will occure soon.

Thanks. The area in question is at a junction of three seams and is split right down to the stitching. I just don’t want to repair it today and have it fall apart again in a month or so. Thanks again for the info.
