How Steep is Natasha Badmann Riding in this picture

Thanks to Tim Carlson for this shot…how steep do you think she is riding…and it looks like her helmet is perfect for “head down” riding:

Where are her brake levers also… I can never see them on her bike.

the are built into the aerobars, she twists a section of them to brake.

Whatever will they think of next??

What kind of wheels are those? You’d think she’d show off the brand to earn some extra sponsorship cash.

Combine her “twist” brake levers and her head down riding style it is no wonder she couldn’t maneuver around this.

Head down riding style does not preclude seeing pylons (eyeballs rolled up Chris Boardman style)…I never agreed with the safety aspect of the twist brake leavers though.

OK, how steep guys?

…was the wheel size on the Cheetah 26 or 24?

26

and before you get nuts designing your position around hers…I was merely guessing at her riding angle.

can’t tell from the picture because it’s taken at an angle and not directly from the side as well as the fact that it looks like she’s riding up a hill.

They look like HED wheels to me. Maybe she isn’t sponsored by them, thus no decals.

Her angle depends on which Cheetah she’s with.http://i39.tinypic.com/tagfgm.jpg

most of these girls ride pretty steep. if you compare this pic you’ve embedded with the pic of paula in this photo essay riding her hamilton/easton, i think you’ll see a lot of similarities in the positions. paula’s forearms were tilted up a bit, but in general the positions were quite similar. lori bowden rode similarly on her cheetah, i think most (not all) of the hardest-riding IM gals 5’6" or shorter over the last 15 years look pretty much like this on their bikes.

well played

At least she has pursuit bars this year.

Another question I’d like to know the answer to is: how did the the camera crew following her, miss her crash?

Probably 80+ degrees? Always loved that bike as it looks FAST (and surely is compared to me for sure!) But, I’m guessing that thing is a handful heading back from Hawi in the crosswinds ridden like that with a 110 lb lady on top!

I can’t remember ever seeing any aero tests with a cheetah, but man if you go by IM wins compared to total number of bikes built Cheetah has got to be in the lead by a huge margin.

Badmans wins and Bowdens wins add up to 8-10? I’m not sure they made more than a dozen bikes

In this one, Paula has those crazy crank extension things on as well. Those kind of vanished.
