How pissed is Hincapie at O'grady?

First the Jersey in 1998 now this:

Australian Stuart O’Grady (Cofidis) won Friday’s Stage 5 of the French race, from Bolléne to Sisteron over 149 km., by outpsrinting American George Hincapie (USPS). This is not news, as both guys are regarded as excellent sprinters, but the big news is that they battled it out for stage victory in a two-man sprint, after the guys, who were part of an eight-strong breakaway group, containing also Yuri Krivtsov, V.H. Peña, Nicolas Jalabert, Jerome Pineau, Bden Cooke and Pierrick Fedrigo, attacked with about 35k to go, and quickly made the gap. Stuey was the fastest in the sprint, while the US Postal Service presented by Berry Floor squad will have to wait again for their first stage victory in this year’s edition of the contest to come.

Hate? This is not like Pantonni running his jib after Lance gifted him a TdF stage. George and Stu are professionals…they race. I am sure that when the race is over, they get allong great. These are cyclists not boxers.

I guess hate is too strong of a word. Its just funny how often O’grady has been played a spoiler to Hincapies results.

O’Grady is a better sprinter than George. I doubt this came as a huge surprise to George.

except for robbie mcewen.

Damn! You beat me to that comment. My thoughts, exactly on the Aussie pitbull on wheels, as I’d just been reading Procycling mag. this morning the saw a picture of McEwen completely railing over on Tom Boonen at the finish of some race this spring. Boonen won, but I’m surprised McEwen didn’t get relegated.

Big George said after the race he knew Stuey is a faster sprinter but he was hoping O’Grady might have been more tired. George said he wasn’t disappointed. I think he was chuffed that they maintained their gap on the chasing breakaways so that in itself was a minor victory.
