Hopefully his presidental skills are better then his riding skills…the pic is on the front page.
Feel free to post the pic on here if anyone has a way to do it.

How happy is the shop that sold him that Serrotta. They are getting great press. Looking at the head tube, that’s a large frame! I didn’t realize Kerry was that tall.
But yes, put the helmet on, hang up, and ride.
Is it a good advert? I will most certainly not buy a bike becuase some rich middle-aged politican rides one.
he needs lycra…
and to loose the white socks
He needs to shave his legs.
Mr president your WAX is ready.
It’s getting a lot more media attention than some other American builders. That’s all I was pointing out. Whether or not someone is going to influence one’s purchasing, I loved building bikes for people and then see the bike in the press. Some mechanic out there is probably stoked knowing they built that bike, and some framebuilder at Serrotta is glowing knowing that’s their work out there. It’s just fun from a bike geek perspective. And if there perhaps is some chance that it might help influence public works spending on safe bike commute corridors and multi-use paths, that’s cool also.
They are getting great press.
Whats that? Senator Kerry is getting a lot of positive press from the media???
What a shocker…
What’s the point of bringing a helmet if you’re not going to wear it? Did he not want to mess his hair up? What is the whole purpose of his riding anyway? I doubt he even rides long enough to raise his HR.
Don
posterboy for cycling safety isn’t he! no helmet AND talking on the phone without a headset.
My guess is that a pic with the helmet on would not make for a good photo-op.
I don’t see that he’s holding a cell phone. Looks to me like he’s just giving a wave to someone…or maybe a “salute” wave.
There is no cell phone. Its another Drudge phoney photo…bad pun fully intended.
Put the helmet on Senator…trust me, it won’t make you look like Mike Dukakis.
What an ass he is… And carrying helmet in his hand. Just like he would have his little helmet in his hand when the terrorists strike again!! This man is a fraud folks!!!
He was on the phone, I saw the video on the news…
FWIW
All together: ONE, TWO, THREE: LAVENDER ROOM!
I never understood why people could not fill out a ballot the correct way.
Watching people not being able to find the Lavender room makes me understand…
Nice going!

Sorry, you’re wrong. He was noted to have done a long charity ride in Mass. a few years ago in nasty conditions (sleet, cold, etc.), when not many completed it. He’s a serious biker, despite this picture. Not knowing the context, I wouldn’t be so quick to condemn. Even I, who never goes on a ride without a helmet, have ridden short distances without it (like going in circles in a parking lot).
No phone. The shadow of his hand, by his noe shows there is no phone.
Lies, damned lies and then there’s media photos. Front page of the Enquirer maybe?
Looks like the shadow of a phone to me.
So are you calling viking1 a liar?
“He was noted to have done a long charity ride in Mass.”
Do you think he was doing a long ride when this photo was taken? I don’t mean to imply that he never does a serious ride. What I meant was what was the purpose of the ride in which the photo was taken? Did he even ride long enough to raise his HR? If he was only riding in a parking lot as a photo op, why even bring the helmet?
Don
I’ve had the (un?)fortunate opportunity to pass by Kerry and his entourage twice this summer on the path along the Charles River here in Boston. What a pain in the ass! Many of my fellow roadies claim he is a decent cyclist, but from what I saw his riding is nothing more than an opportunity for more publicity/ media attention.
