Can we get a consensus on this? Perhaps the thing to do is make a new forum for thread(s) like this, but then again, if it wasn’t here, it’d probably wouldn’t get so many posts. But most important is to find out if everyone thinks the forum is slower…
No slower on my laptop. We do not need (yet another) subforum, imo.

Sunny and mid-50s in Russian Hill, but there is a thick layer of fog starting at about Twin Peaks, so you know Ocean Beach is totally covered.

W winds 5 to 15 kt…increasing to 10 to 20 kt in the afternoon. Local wind gusts to 25 kt possible north of the Bay Bridge this afternoon. Patchy morning fog.
Forum speed hasn’t changed on my end, either…
…if it’s no slower…perhaps the Hottie Thread should be revamped, as pictures are pictures, and this is making it no slower for everyone but me…!? Perhaps I’m connected to next door again?!
The forum is not slower. That thread loads slower because of the images and each one being called separately via link.
The Hottie Thread did not have the images saved either. But what slowed the Lavender Room down was the pre-processing of the posts (including links). There were some changes made to the guts of the forum that significantly improved this, and perhaps the server no longer crawls through all the posts when loading the forum anymore. I didn’t think it did, which is why I wanted to see if there really was a slowdown. Perhaps ShoMyOFace is just suffering some bandwidth constriction on his end, which is what seems to be the case.

Agreed. We have a long way to go before the member pic thread starts slowing things like the old Hottie thread did to the Lav room.

Maybe we do. We could call it the “Self-Love” forum. A forum where we can promote ourselves and our ‘projects’
A place where personal self promotion rules and is the order of the day. I think we Slowtwitchers are far too modest. Most of us think we’re “The Shit.” We need a place where those thoughts can become self-fulfilling prophecies.
