How much has your weight changed since Highschool

Post , pounds or percentage , with a small - med - large frame , or short tall .

I have been up 35 % , I am just under that maybe 32% + ,with a very tall , say large frame.

I was a stick in school .

178cm, 65kg so slightly on the thin side.

Been the same ± 4kg since highschool. I’m now 36.

I have tried to gain a little but it just doesn’t work for me.

Medium-Large frame, 71 inches tall (used to be 71.5 inches tall!)…gained 5 lbs. in college, and I’m still there 25 years later…mid-lower 180’s. I made it up to 200 lbs. by weight training very hard…but, the result wasn’t worth the effort in my book. Plus, my blood pressure got too high at that point. I essentially quit lifting weights in order to drop back to my current weight, although I do core strength/balance work. I think after my ironman race, I’ll start lifting some again and race next year just a little heavier. I feel twice as strong just 5 lbs heavier…since I’m only an AG level triathlete, who cares if the extra muscle weight slows me down a hair on the uphills? I still want to have a chance at the medal ceremony if a fight breaks out

I weighed 20# MORE (163#) when I graduated high school than I do today at age 57 (143#).

Aloha,

Larry

I was 6’2" and 155#s in high school. I was a runner then and was ok. Now I’m 6’2" and 202#s, I’m a cyclist now and probably better on the bike than I ever was in running.

I was a gymnast in HS and college and at 5’5" I never weighed more than 148 or less than 144lbs at about 7.5 or 8% body fat. Man I wish I was still there. Now I sit right at about between 150 and 155 depending on the time of year and my motivation level.

155/160# 5’ 11" Swimmer/Water Polo. 5 years ago up to 213 before doing tris. Now at 48 years, down to 180# would like to be 170 as at least 20 still around the waist.

In high school I was 6ft and 150lbs and was one of the top middle distance runners in the province so I had much more of a runner’s build. This is my 15th season of racing tris so I’ve put on a lot more size in my legs and upper body. Right now I’m 6ft and around 167-168 lbs (down from 189 this past winter … I was a fatty in the off-season) in preparation for Kona.

High School Graduation 5’11.75"&155 (and skinny). (I couldn’t gain weigh to save my life. I wanted to play versity Football. Can’t do that in Texas at 145-150 (my weight my Jr. and Sr. years in the fall.)

college–jumped up to 168. First kid–(31 y o)–173.
Twins 178. 20 yr after High School 180. 25yrs–190
Age 46–209. YIKES!!!
50–190, but much better shape and less fat.
53–(before my recent achilles injury)–176.
finally back on the bike x 2weeks–180. Ugh!
Hope to be back on my way to 170 when I can run again.

5’4" and 135lbs, medium frame, out of high school

145lbs 1 year later after graduating boot camp

160lbs about 3 years later at the end of my skating career

185lbs in Jan 03 just as I started training for triathlons at 35 yrs old

152lbs now

6-0 147# in HS as a swimmer and cross country runner. We didn’t do body fat%, but I wore size 26 Speedo. Looking at my old HS yearbook pic, I’d have to guess somewhere between 0 and minus 2% :-o

Stayed near that weight for ten years or so, then weight trained all the way to 197!! Didn’t like the look and didn’t want to see 2XX on the bathroom scale. Started running again but kept lifting and gradually got down to 165. Currentlyl 170 and hovering at around 10% body fat. I don’t like that number, but when one passes 50 apparently we store more fat around our internal organs, because guys with more gut and less definition than I have are testing at 15% and higher.

Getting old sucks, but soon I’ll be flying solo in my AG and winning EVERY race I enter! That and getting discounts on breakfast at my favorite racist restaurant - Denny’s!!

“recent achilles injury”
Go easy on that AT, doc. I fought with AT (right) for ten years. I finally got control of it through chiropractic. If it’s only one leg that’s bothering you, then it’s a structural balance problem and stretching and PT alone won’t fix it.

I have claimed 5’10", but 5’9" or even a little less may be more accurate.

I think I have most of you beat on weight changes. I was probably about 160 when I graduated from HS. My weight in college varied from a low of 145 when I had mono and such severe strep that I could not eat for about a week to a max of 178. I tried to swim around 155, but tended to gain about 20 pounds in the off season. I was probably about 190 when I graduated from law school. I reached a peak of 214.5 in June 1999 when I retired from playing rugby and started training for my first marathon. Last week, I hit 171.5, which is my lowest weight for this year (so far) and my lowest weight since I was the spring of 1988 when I was 22 years old. I hope to get down to 160 before I turn 40 early next summer.

School: 6’1", 168lbs, pseudo-elite swimmer
Now: 6’1", 194lbs, fat bastard wannabe triathlete

Weight gain peaked at 200lbs (without weight training  before I decided I needed to get my act together…

5’10". (Ok - 5’9.5") Weighed 118-125 in HS. Was 140 in college and stayed their until my early 40’s when I “ballooned” up to 160. Down to 145 now at the end of the season but will be back to 150+ at the end of the coming winter.

Man, you guys are some skinny-ass mo-fos. I’d have to chop off a leg or go on a sit-in hunger strike to get down to a proportional weight.

cerveloguy - 5’10" and 145lbs
Francois - 5’7" and 140lbs

me - 5’5" and 155lbs and not fat by any means.

5’6, small frame

HS - 130

College - up to 145

Adult:

    (pre-tri) - 138

    (tri) - 114-118

Best shape of my life at 46.

G

I was about 160 pounds or so in high school (6 ft tall). Went to University, probably put on about 10 pounds. Was married soon after that. Ballooned close to 200 pounds. After starting Triathlons about 2 years ago, I am down to 170-173 pounds, and probably more defined and in better shape than I have ever been.

Mark

senior year in hs, i wrested at 138 (5’9"?). that required a lot of not eating, time in the sauna with plastic bags and sleeping in a lot of layers to sweat. healthy huh?

5 years later - 195 (from weightlifting) 5’11"

now - 157 - 5’11"

medium frame, still have a litle muscle left from my weightlifting days but i’m still a skinny dude.

5’3" 100 in hs. 110 in college xc. injured and up to 135 yikes. now goes betw 120-125
