How much for Shiner Bock?

Okay y’all from that little state way south of Alaska, how much for a six pack of the nectar of Tibbs and Lance? I’d never seen Shiner Bock up here, but to my surprise the Shopette had several cases on the shelf today. I picked-up a six pack and was shocked to see it ring up for $8.49! Ouch, it better taste good with my grilled salmon this weekend.

Shiner Bock sounds like a desease to me :-)) I like “Bitburger Pils” and “Erdinger Weißbier” IT’S THE BEST and tastes great with grilled salmon…

BTW, BOCK beer here is dark beer…and very strong! It’s only seasonal and only brewed end Nov.

Someone get the smelling salts for Tibbs!

Why don’t you mail me a bottle over and I’ll give it a try, 'cause if brewed by Germans, it can’t be thaaaat bad! Hope they remembered the Purity Law!

Is it dark beer ?

What do you mean? Not a single jew touched it? I don’t care if a jew touched it or not. I am atheist…and without religious affiliation…so what about the deal? Send me a can and I’ll send you one from here!

I think I can get it for $9.00 or so for a 12-pack when its on sale here in Colorado. Definitely cheaper than the local microbrews, which go for $12-$14.

You’re American, not a savage…Mr. Tibbs…is it dark beer or white beer?

PS sedn me your address as well !

So Shiners Bock is only bottled? I am really surprised mr. Tibbs…but just thought, sending beer from here to there is cheaper in a can!

Unthinkable? Oh come on. Are you telling me you’ve never supped from a Fosters oil can? Special Brew? (Next thing you’ll be telling me you’ve never heard of Buckfast) Beer in cans is the best!

**Beer in cans is the best! **

So we have a Brit and a German in favor of beer in cans, huh?

And people say *Americans *are unsophisticated. Sheesh.

It’s an amber beer
.

Shiner Bock is a dark beer (think Dos Equis) that actually tastes closer to a regular US-style Pilsener.

And people say Americans are unsophisticated. Sheesh.

Well, there’s sophistication, and there’s pretension. If you think that drinking beer out of a bottle is somehow superior to the can, all power to your elbow!

I was thinking more along the lines of a pint glass, or maybe a stein.

There can be no serious argument, though, that beer in a can is inferior. Even Budweiser is better from a bottle, for God’s sake.

Which reminds me, the trendy new thing to do here in DC is to order cans of Pabst Blue Ribbon or Schlitz. It’s kinda funny when some chic loser buys one, and then loses the girl he was talking to to someone with a real set.

My, but that’s pathetic.

Its more of an Amber beer. To me its most similar to Anchor Steam Ale.

Its not anything like Bitburger. I guess I’d compare it to DAB.

Glad to see that the Reinheitsgebot remains intact. I wouldn’t want anyone adding formaldehyde to my beer.

Rocketboy

No kidding. But it makes for decent live entertainment, so I can live with it.

I do consider myself lucky to try the favorite beer of LA and you. I suppose doubling the price to cover shipping all the way up here is fair…although SB will have to be very good to top my favorites from the Alaskan Brewing Company–Alaskan Amber and Alaskan Summer Ale, ummm, ummm, ummmm.

Also, I too much prefer bottled beer over canned. Better yet is draft from the tap. All of it (bottle, can, draft) should be consumed from an frosty glass mug!

Not necessarily in favor…I sure prefer draft beer, or stubbis. If nothing else available, I drink cans…and once I was even derided by some friends because I dared to drink beer from a plastic bottle…the beer was Goddamn good though… and I was surprised! As nobody else wanted to drink it from the plastic bottle…well I had the good stuff all for myself while the others drank shitty bad headache beer from the bottle…:-)I am a savage probably…but didn’t need aspirine the next morning!

In fact I don’t like Steins too much, but only for 1 specific reason Though it keeps beer cold .I hate to be cheated. here in germany draft beer is served with lots of foam, but only to a certain marking. With those steins it’s hard to tell if it’s really full or not… and the later the night, the more foam and the lesser beer…:frowning:
