the “original” specialized transition allez, the bike specialized made to market their tri-spoke wheels before they sold the design to HED. back in '93 i was working at a bike shop and the owner gave me the frame (they had stripped all the parts) for $250. a REALLY anal customer came in after dropping his bike and HAD to have all new components ('cuz his drive side brake lever, pedal, rear der, and crank arm, were scratched) so i got to keep those for $50. the shop i worked at sold lots of road bikes but no tri bikes so this bike was on the floor for over a year and then they stripped it and put the frame on the wall where it stayed for another year. i loved that bike and had some of my fastest times ever on it with an old HED jet rear and J-Disc front (young legs probably helped too). it somehow got lost in a move, bummer as i wish i still had it.
