How much clothing do you have?

I’m a laundromat user, and laundry is a big inconvenience for me. When considering the workouts I have planned during the week, one of the most annoying things I think about is whether I have enough clean (or “clean enough”) clothes. So I’m on a mission to buy more, but was just a little curious: socks, shirts, swimsuits, etc. - how much do you have filling up your dresser?

I’m kind of an equipment junkie, so I have a lot. I have about 6 pairs of shorts that I train in, about 10 SS jerseys, two jackets, and three long sleeve jerseys. As it turns out, all of my power is put out via my big toes, so I go through socks like they’re edible. I buy a new pack of 3 pairs every month of so.

It would be worthwhile to invest in new, high quality shorts. Keeping them clean will keep your underside healthy and happy. They’re expensive, but I find it worthwhile.

too much. just off the top of my head

bike stuff
3 pair bib shorts
4 pair regular cycling shorts
5 short sleeve jerseys
1 long sleeve jersey
1 light, packable windjacket
1 rainjacket w/ removable sleeves
1 coldweather jacket
2 pair knee warmers
1 pair arm warmers
2 pair headband/ear warmers
2 skull caps for under helmet
3 pair gloves (1 regular, 1 full finger, 1 winter)

running stuff
6 pair running shorts
maybe a dozen short-sleeve shirts
3 tank tops
5 or 6 long sleeve shirts
1 pair running gloves
3 beanies
2 running jackets
1 pair running pants

at least 2 dozen pair of running and cycling socks
2 pair compression socks
1 pair compression tights

3 swimsuits (1 speedo and 2 sets of jammers)

throw in two 2-piece tri race suits, with another one on the way…a lot of stuff. More than I need…I’ve accumulated a lot over the years. Time for a purge.

Hee hee.

7 pairs of running shorts and 7 sports bras.
7 swimsuits.
One pair of cycling shorts
Zero actual cycling jerseys, but plenty of tank tops that work just as well!
One pair of tights
Socks, lost count, I mismatch them.
One fleecy top for colder cycling days.

I’m a minimalist :stuck_out_tongue:

One full dresser, and one full outdoor garage storage closet. Not even joking. Kind of obscene really, but part of my job description is “pt” so I guess that has a bit to do with it.

I’m a laundromat user, and laundry is a big inconvenience for me.

As life-long runner/triathlete/cyclist, I don’t know how people live like this. A “must-have” for any place that I lived, rented or owned is on-site washer/dryer. I could not imagine having to deal with carting the laundry used when I was doing 2 or three workouts/day to an outside laundromat + the time. Wow!!

For the record here’s what I normally have in circulation - this is mostly for riding as that’s all I do these days:

4 pairs of bib cycling shorts
8 short sleeve cycling jerseys( I like to collect wild and crazy ones)
2 long sleeve cycling jereseys
4 base layer T-shirts
2 sets of arm warmers
1 set of full leg warmers
1 set of knee-warmers
2 helmet liners
1 Gore-tex helmet cover
2 pair of regular road cycling gloves
2 pair thermal riding gloves(one thinner the other lobster claw thermal)
2 pair of cycling shoe over-boots( one thinner one thicker)
8 pair of cycling socks
2 wind vests( one thin, one thicker)
1 full thermal/winter cycling jacket

I think that’s about it. I ride in everything from 0C to sweltering tropical temps in the mid 30’sC so you need to have a range of gear to handle all this range of weather.

2 pairs of cycling shorts
1 pair cold weather cycling tights
5 pairs of running shorts
3 swimsuits
3 pairs of running tights
1 cycling jacket for cold weather
more sports bras than I care to count
2 SS cycling jerseys
1 sleeveless cycling jersey
several pairs of Balga socks (best socks ever)

Those are all the essentials, but if I could have more of anything it would be cycling shorts.
