wtf?
May be the pic, but that hill doesn’t even look that steep
I don’t want to count but that picture is hilarious.
They must all be from Florida.

Well, it must be pretty brutal - I mean, even the race leader (in the yellow jersey) is zigzagging his way up it.
I assume the white sign at the side of the road reads, “Live Firing Range. Evasive Actions Required”. Or, something like that.
Actually, if you strain your eyes real good, you can read through the sign and see what it says:
.
Did they just leave the tavern around that bend ? Do you know where its at?
I will guess this is Savageman in Maryland… I think I was ahead of this craziness…flatlanders we call’em
Climbing gears are for sissys…these guys only ride 54-12…that’s how they roll.
I think I could push my walker up that hill faster than that. Are they struggling THAT much?
Funny picture, I needed a laugh today.

If they bought a Fuji D6, they could ride a 55-11 at 110 RPM

I agree, that looks like Savageman. The disturbing thing is that it is not “The Wall”, so it is not the hardest hill. It also does not look like “Killer Miller”, although that is a different perspective, so I could be wrong. That would mean this is at worst the THIRD hardest hill, which would make it rather lame that many people are zig-zagging. Maybe the first guy started doing it and everyone behind him said “hey, that’s a good idea!”.
I only see those two dirty cheaters who are drafting ;).
It is SavageMan, and that is not The Wall - the steepest hill. Nor is it Maynardier Ridge - the 2nd steepest. Nor is it Killer Miller - probably the hardest climb but 3rd steepest. It’s looking down from the top of Big Savage at the final kick-up to the summit, which peaks at 22%. And the white sign on the right side of the roads says: “No Drafting”.
would pushing your bike up a hill within 3 bike lengths of someone else still count as drafting?
And this is a perfect example of what happens when people do not KEEP RIGHT when they are not passing. Geez, look at all of the confusion created for those ST’ers behind the leader with their Zipps trying to pass at 30mph.
C’mon people! READ THE FRICKIN’ RULES!
oh sweet jesus that is funny
i need to do this race
but im not sure i wouldn’t be walking up that hill

Seriously. Look at the ST-approved P4 in this one. It’s clear this is obviously the fastest bike on the planet, what with the aero bottle/fairing in place down by the bottom bracket. No disc wheel or aero helmet, though. Not sure the point of riding the bike at all then…
to be fair, the aerodynamic advantage of the p4 is largely nullified at that particular moment
hehe
