From about six months of bike riding, I have two major scars on my left knee and one on the finger.
So a total of three scars. With that said, how many more scars can I expect in the future?

Scars are the least of your concerns. Pray that you don’t break anything.
Knock on wood I have never gone down cycling. Lots of scars from doing other things though.
You seem to have gotten your “three” out of the way. So either you will never get another or your in for a rough ride ![]()
I have several. One of my former college roomates had a rule that he would never date a woman had did not have scars on her knees. His reasoning was that that scarless meant that she had an overly cautious up-bringing or something. Made sense to me.
The more that you cycle – the more experience you will have with dealing with “sticky situations” and the less accidents you will have. You learn better what to look for and anticipate these situations. Sure, there is always some risk in cycling – especially if you are racing or in close proximity to other cyclists/drivers. An experienced cyclist told me that you’ll even get fewer flats as you get more experience – you just learn better what to look for and how to ride “flat free.” Keep riding!
"One of my former college roomates had a rule that he would never date a woman (that) did not have scars on her knees. " Man I had the same policy, but for other reasons ![]()
My mom made a comment about a month ago about never having wrecked on her bike, I told her it is just a matter of time and not to speak to soon. She is now nursing her sprained shoulder after taking a nose dive into some grass last week.
On the left knee alone 14 non-surgical dime sized ones…
I’m a left knee, right hip crasher it seems.

Yeah, if you ride long enuf your gonna get scars. especially MTBing.
I have scars on my head, shoulders, elbows, hips and knees as well as shins.
Forgot to mention that two of my knee scars came with a black and blue sprained wrist, and a black and blue right shoulder also. It was a newbie mistake of trying to wipe my glasses off in aerobars at 18 mph on the side of the road with a nice two inch drop into gravel on the right.
It was a shock to sort of see things happen and knowing there was nothing I could do. Sort of “seeing the other car coming” experience. It took two months to fully recover. Here are the gory details. This was a month after the accident.
ENJOY. Whoo hhaaaahhhaaaa!

I was going to say something here…but…er…oh nevermind.
