So from short recovery rides to LSD rides, there must be a big range of oz. needs…
How much do you guys generally drink on your rides (all distances), and with what equipment?

What are ounces ?
Oh , my dictionary just translated that one for me sorry , silly me !
2x 600 ml bottles which I usually reload hourly after the first 90 mins.
2 large polar bottles for anything over an hour. of course it has been over 100 every day in July and Aug. here.
About 1 to 2 oz. per mile depending on the temperature and intensity of the ride.
Richard
24oz (~800ml) per hour.
I can carry 6 large water bottles (24 oz) on my bike which will get me through a 160K ride in areas where there is no place to pickup water on route. I normally leave the saddle wing off and carry 3-4 bottles since on most rides there are towns to stop in to refill.
when I first read the subject, I thought it said “How many ounces of liquor on your rides?” Couldnt help but think, what a great question! Imagine my disappointment…

Wow sounds like great rides Brent !
Out of curiosity , wher do you put them all ?

Two bottles in the Podium Quest between the aerobars, two bottles in cages on the frame and two in the saddlewing. I live about 40K from the Rocky’s where there are some great roads but no places to get water enroute. Here’s the summit of the 175K ride we did last Sunday.
Im from Vancouver actually but live in Singapore. I have travelled that route many years ago , that must be absolute paradise to ride. Your pic never came out unfortunately , would love to see it though ? What about bears ?
Another group had to stop for a bear on a ride last weekend (they were riding a different mountain pass). Someone in our group had to stop for some bighorn sheep on Sunday. The bears usually aren’t a problem in the summer.
The shoulders on the highways are nice and wide and there are almost no cars making the ride really nice. There are more motorcycles and bikes than cars on many of these roads.

Couldn’t open neither , may just be my office security, will try from home later. Thanks for your reply. Would love to join you guys for ride one summer. Would get the mrs. to keep a couple of coolers in the following car !
Here’s a link to a page from when Armstrong did the Highwood Pass ride last year

.
You are soooooooooooooooo… fortunate !
usually a 40oz in a brown paper bag does it for me
.
yes, I’m glad a few of you posted about alcohol…
I’m wondering because how do you stop for more liquid if you were going over 60-80miles or so?
Water fountain? Store? hmm…
And how much do you NEED for that 60-80 miler if you don’t want to stop.
40oz normally I also like to drink one before i go out, so i pound back an OLD E and then on the ride a St.Ides. Does me for a good long ride… ^^
I worked out my general fluid requirements to be 750ml per hour on the bike. Obviously, if it is hot I drink more. IF it is a LSD ride then I need a Camelbak to carry enough fluid, although I hate the sweatness that it produces behind it on your back. Otherwise if under 4 hours I will carry two bottles in my jersey pockets to swap out for the empty ones in the frame cages.
BOOO i didn’t realise you had already mentioned 40oz. Damnit.
