Hey. it’s kinda tri related as music keeps you going, right?
I’ve been downloading music for awhile and I have 20 gigs now. Man, how long do you have to sit in front of the machine to get 40 gigs to fill an ipod?

Whatever is on the I-Pod mini. How much is that?
well, if you like live music there’s about 8 billion gigs on archive.org…
I add ~500 megs per day
Itunes currently shows me as having 48.7Gb on my server. The ipod has 8Gb on it. The CD rack has about 650 discs.
I have a powerbook and when I started ripping the collection, I’d just put a pile of cd’s next to my chair, and just fed it discs as it needed them, didn’t need to monitor it, just pop in a new one when it went ‘bing’. Didn’t really notice I was doing it. Now, when I buy new discs I just pop them in the machine and I’m up to date. Handy resource for the insurance too, I can give them an itemised list if I needed to, and a photo of the rack shows the discs in place.

Tom, the iPod mini holds about 3.7 Gig.
I think I have around 27 Gig of tunes on my hard drive. How many do I actually listen to on a regular basis? Probably less than 5. Not enough time. Maybe as I start lengthening my bike rides I’ll be able to listen to more of my music.
I’m about 50Gb too. When I buy a new CD it goes into the PC for ripping before it goes into the stereo.
There are a few cd’s with copy protection but I have three ripping software and at worst I need to try two before I get the music into my PC.
Copy protection is a pain in the neck. Sony has decided to stop using it from next year apparently - yay!
10.4 Gigs and all legal.
22.78Gb acccording to iTunes
.
I feel like such a lightweight … I have 10GB in my Jambands folder, 4GB in my Surf folder, 3GB in my Punk/80’s folder (including 4 Talking Heads bootlegs) 2GB in Metal and about a Gig each in my Blues, Girl Pop, Caribbean and Mexican folders.
