Looks like I’ll be sending in my third unit. Blank/Black screen this time. Last two times buttons stopped working. This third one was within a year of last repair so hopefully under warranty. Just wondering how many other people have burnt through.
Got mine soon after initial release and still good (knocking on wood).
Still on my original unit that I got in early 2012. No problems so far and I have even used it for a 16:32:xx IM finish!! I will say that I have never done a software update. Couldn’t tell you what version I am using. Dont know if that has anything to do with it.
Having issues with the power button on a used one I bought from a friend I no longer keep in touch with. It still works most times (have to fiddle with it) but there’s probably an issue long term. No idea how old it is but I’ve heard garmin can be good about warranty and what not. If I end up sending this in, what kind of response can I expect?
3-days if you pay for priority. I had a power button issue which they sent me the most current one. I must have bad luck with technology.
Sent 3 back for barometer issue over the last 2 years. Sold the last refurbished one I received and just got the Fenix 2. Garmin has been good about not charging me anything.
i believe i am on my 4th one in about 2 years. let’s see… #1 ended up in the schuylkill, june 2012, got a new one… #2 died right before syracuse 70.3 2013, and then i can’t remember, but i think i got a warranty replacement for #3, so that would get me to #4. yea, i think that’s right.
Ummm! zero. I got a 310XT 6 months or so before the 910XT came out. Just couldn’t justify it. Been waiting for the 910 replacement but haven’t seen it yet and don’t expect it this year. I suspect I’ll pick up the Fenix 2 when the bundled version starts shipping.
Same, I’m satisfied with my 310XT. Its a little lame that it can not calculate TSS but its not like that matters much.
Gonna replace my 310 when it breaks. Hopefully it will take another 2 years.
I’m on my 2nd luckily thanks to the “clean the barometer holes” fixing my elevation problem that caused my first one to go back. The current one is no longer reliable for vibration alerts but is out of the 1 year warranty period so I’m managing…and I think it’s just using GPS for elevation data but at least it’s not reading 65k like before…

Original one received February 2012. Per Training Peaks since 3/1/12 until now I have 1132 hours logged.
I’ve done 15k km on my bike, 3k running and a lot less swimming with no issues. I’ve gone through a couple HRMs, though.
I’m pretty rough on mine and very happy how it holds up,(except fog that builds up under the screen on really hot days). Any idea what is causing yours to break down?

Still on my first one, bought nov of 2012. Still works perfectly, on my wrist for every swim, bike, and run. Never had an issue besides the fog under the screen once in a while. I didn’t do a software update until this most recent one. I have to say, I love it.
I am getting ready to send back my 5th I believe. I am getting to the point where I am almost sick of it. I have tried the cleaning thing which worked once but then somehow screwed up the vibration. I will give it one more go. The Garmin people said they think they figured it out since the diagnostic people aren’t looking at the sent back units anymore. Or they can’t do anything so they’re saying screw it. Hopefully it’s the first one.
On my original one still, use it for every work out, swim bike run. No complaints, I can’t remember exactly when I got it, but it must have been over a year ago. I put it through relatively heavy volume with no complaints yet.
I’m not sure why I’ve had bad luck. The latest crash happened during a track run. I was in my first 800 meters went to check where my calibration figure was set since it said I was running much faster than I was. It started to beep continuously then screen went blank. I can tell it turns on because the entire screen darkens a little. But it’s just blank. Trying to drain battery but taking forever.
my 305 started doing some odd things after a while, similar to what you describe. I think I may have gotten a voucher or something to reduce the cost of the new 910.

Unlike the 310xt. I cracked so many of those screens, I must be on my 4th or 5th. But I don’t use it anymore unless I forget to charge the 910xt
