I’ve been reading a lot of intervals that can be done and many mention …“find a hill with an X degree of inclination…” how can I measure that? Thanks.
With an inclinometer. They sell 'em at Home Depot, maybe $15.
A good compass will sometimes have an inclinomter built in.
Can’t say I’ve ever used one to actually measure the grade of a hill, but I guess you could.
…or you can figure it out with a calculator. Take one that has trigonometric functions and use this example. Say you ride 2 miles and gain 500 feet in elevation:
500 divided by 2 miles (10,560 feet), hit the “equals” key to get .0473, then hit “Inverse Sine” = 2.71 degrees.
Or you can just ride the hill, and say "&%$#@! that was hard!
