Up until recently I’ve used Map24 and my Polar to determine distance/speed of my runs. Lately, neither have not matched up when it comes to either measurement (is my Polar out of whack?), so now I’m having a hard time figuring out if I’m running a 9min/mile or 8min/mi on easy days or even a 7min/mi on others. I took one route and drove it to try to determin a 3 point comparison but now I have 3 different distances. AARGH!
What do you use to determin distance when looking for new routes? As of yet I don’t have a tried and true route to do comparisons to (aka reference point).
Thanks for your input
I use microsoft Streets and Trips to lay out my routes, and then I mark the time at predetermined points.
Even if it is not ‘accurate’, it is good for comparison purposes. I don’t really care how fast I am going as long as I am getting faster!
