How early do you arrive in Kona

I am hoping to get over to Hawaii this year to watch the race and was wondering how early most athletes tend to arrive the week before.

How many triathletes will be there by Monday or Tuesday? I guess there will proabably be 100s of people riding on the course every day all week long?

I would guess the average arrival time in Kona is 5 to 6 days. A few will arrive a week or more early and vacation in Hawaii.

Yes, there will be many triathletes riding the course, a number of which will be non-competitors. It won’t be crowed on the bike course, except possibly in town.

I always arrived the Sunday before. Need the time to get acclimated to the heat plus it’s HAWAII.

I would think 3 to 5 years would be a good start.

Oct 3rd… I come from cold Germany and I have to cope with 12 time difference.

Oct 5th…but I`m comming from Norway. And we have 2 degrees C in the morning allready:-((

Hope I dont have to ride in the snow before I leave:-))

I’m arriving on the 9th (Tuesday), but that jus because I couldn’t come any earlier.
