How does your coach send you workouts?

$200 a month. But before I jump the gun, I’ll wait and find out what I get. If it’s what I think, I’ll have a conversation that will either end with something more structured or me looking for a new coach.

Thanks for the input.

I get daily workouts such as this:

  • Threshold Intervals. Warm-up 30 min in Zone 2… Then do 5 intervals x 4 min at your LTHR ( Zone 4). Cadence 90-100 RPM. Recover 2 min between reps. Recover 10 min in Zone 2 after the set. Then do 5 x 10 sec form sprints @ 80% of max effort…recover for 5 min between each…Finish the ride in Zone 2 to include a 10 min Cool Down.*

He has them listed 1 month in advance, but will tweak them based on my input every day.

I get a week of very specific workouts and pacing guidelines. Repeat that week for three months. My sig line is a quote from my coach.

Tell your coach you need to train more.

Or would you like me to?
it’s the off-season. don’t I get to rest a little? you know i’m lazy!

Karma,
Thanks for the WorkoutLog plug. We have been busy putting a lot of practical tools out there for coaches and athletes. We also built a mobile site to allow athletes to access their training plans and log workouts right from their phones! Just point your mobile browser to http://wolog.mobi

We started a blog to keep our users more up to date with our developments http://blog.workoutlog.com

Thanks again for the plug.

“The whole, entire point here is to break out of the perspective that you need to constantly change up the training. This is about performance, and if you can’t handle the mind-numbing repetition, you won’t break the plateau.”

Do you even do the very same swim workouts for three months? The very same sets and the very same strokes and the very same intervals?

If so, wow. I don’t think I could come up with a week of swimming that I’d be willing to do every week for three months. I thrive on variety…
