How does my taper week look

My buddy is running med city marathon this weekend, and when I asked him what his taper week looked like, this was his response haha…

“well, i plan to dehydrate myself this afternoon in the heat advisory
then hopefully make my back and arms sore from paddling with you,
maybe lay around watching tv, on my side to make my legs tighten up unevenly,
gain 2-3 pounds by eating both a high carb and high protein diet,
experiment with new and spicy foods and try to sleep less”

Are you doing it with him? Sounds like he is sandbaggng you and trying to get into your head

Spring marathons are often just another long training day, so maybe your friend doesn’t need a taper.
I used to do Med City when it started in Rochester, pretty easy course, and I’d run it as a long training run.
