Interesting…I have seen a lot of this guy’s videos that are all manner of pranks. Not sure I can get past the idea this is a scripted ‘awwwwww isn’t that nice’ video so he can direct clicks to his web site and youtube account for $.
But maybe it’s real I dunno. Would be nice if it were.

I think there certainly could be a time and place where that happens. If it weren’t published by a clown who runs around with planted cameras looking to shock people and prank them I’d be a lot less skeptical. Only basing it off what he has made his name with which is shock value/comedy clips.

Might be true, might not, doesn’t really matter very much, does it? It says nothing about how issues of homelessness should be handled. True or not, anecdotalism is no substitute for sound public policy (of course that doesn’t stop the LR from relying almost solely on various feel good/bad stories). I generally donate time and money to food pantries and shelters, so that they can make the best determination about how to serve the homeless population.

True, and it’s sad. There have been a spate of videos–homeless man gets something and does something incredible with it. Woman walks around and men are dicks to her. Within a few days many of these are exposed as frauds. There was one where a girl walked around acting drunk, she interacted with a few men who tried to take her home (with the implication that they’d take advantage of her). Turns out the men were asked to take part in a ‘prank’ video and told what to say (why they’d ever, EVER agree to participate after hearing the premise is beyond me). Now these guys are pasted all over the internet looking like predator scumbag, all so the videographer could make a ‘point’ (that had to be fabricated to get across, no less).
It’d be nice if this were real, I just have a hard time believing it.

Watched the video earlier today, it took place in Anaheim, not too far from where I live. Guy went to a park known to be frequented by a lot of homeless.
