How do you prepare for this swim start

I can’t image myself at the public pool wearing my wetsuit and google climbling the 3 meters diving board and practice my jumps… :0

Dang! Makes Alcatraz look like rolling outta bed.

Yeah, but no fun current like Alcatraz, look at the swimmers, they’re still behind the boat. Before I jumped off at Alcatraz I could have sworn the boat was still chugging along by where the swimmers from the previous waves were…kj

Alex…that entire gallery on xtri covering the Norseman is awesome. This is what triathlon is all about. The hoopla at Ironman North America events is cool, but this is the really grass roots, hard core, back to the basics, do it cause its there type of event that this sport is really all about. It fits right in with events like Ultraman !

Dev,
I guess you will have to modify the Epicman course and have the bike finished at the top of whiteface mountain then make people running down for 6.5 miles and finally back up again… I know we can’t ride up in the middle of the day…but we could put T2 at the gate…

WOW! That would scary just to do the jump!

right on, dev.

Also don’t forget this is a jump into COLD water, below the temp limit of normal IM races, last year it was a whole 13.5deg
.

Whoa! Did you see the rest of the gallery? That race is absolutely awesome! What’s up with climbing up that trail in the snow? Super cool. And the swim exit across the rocks! Huge! There is a race you could never have in the United States.

This is the only photo in the gallery I seem to be able to view:

Must be something wrong with my computer… I love Scandinavia.

Alex, Tom,

Looks like we have to invent another event. The best venue in North America would be on Vancouver Island and heading towards the summit of Mt. Washington. I am sure there are some cool fjords in Alaska too, as well as the east coast of Newfoundland near Cornerbrook.

You know, comments like this, from people like you, put a big smile on the face of the organizers. Thanks from one little contributor to this race.

This is my favorite:
