How do you know that you personally are overtrained?

I’m glad someone took the time to address the misnomer here. It always bugs me when I hear people I train with say they’re overtrained, when they’re most likely suffering from the effects of too little sleep, bad dieting habits, too much high intensity work, or maybe even moderate overreaching.

I think most people who have defined their personal symptoms of ‘overtraining’ have only adequately described being a few days overreached in their training.
