How do you feel?

So I had a disappointing race this weekend and am wondering…does everyone feel this bad on the run? I have never been able to run well off the bike in Half IM distance (like not even close to my open PR) and ran terribly yesterday. I realize that there are many factors that go into a performance but on the whole I’m just wondering, do I just need to learn how to run through the pain more…or am I really just completely blown up off the bike. Do you guys suffer off the bike even if your a runner? So this is partly curiosity, but I just need to know…how do you feel off the bike in this distance or longer? What has me really worried is I’m trying to race my first IM next month!

Need to pace yourself. I did the same thing last year. Hammer the bike and sprint out of T2. Horrible runs for me.

This is where a powermeter REALLY helps in a race.

When I have run my best in a HIM I generally have always felt sick to my stomach and in semi pain. Even when “properly” paced a HIM ride is pretty “hot”. There is no real chance of getting off the bike and feeling fresh. It is going to hurt.
