How do you dope and not get caught?

Not because I am going to cheat. But because people acuse Lance of cheating, but he never failed a test. Same for lots of guys. Rasmussen is the target now. So what could he be doing that is not getting causght? He has been tested for how many days now? I mean I know there is a lot of circumstantial evidence out there, but no failed test.

Do they have methods that test can’t find? Do just enough to get some benefit, but not enough to be detected? I don’t know.

For the 10thn time in 3 days:

There is no test for autologous blood doping!

Nor would you fail a test if you supplemented with testosterone carefully

So that is the only thing? They are all doing just that? Seems like it would be hard to train if you were always donating blood.

Or any of them if you stay below the thresholds…which is most guys are doing? I ride occasionally with an ex pro-tour rider from germany. He was a domestique and he stated quite plainly that it is rampant throughout the tour, that they are all doing it. Some teams…discovery…simply have better formulas than others…discovery…He could definitely blow the doors off of any of us though.

Yes, I’m sure it is hard to train if you are donating your own blood. Which might explain how many of the top guys seem to miraculously be awesome in the tour de france when they were not so special earlier int he season, doesn’t it?

I’m not sure what other compounds other than your own red blood cells, and testosterone, would escape detection.

Do they have methods that test can’t find?

you bet. tons of them. and if you want to learn, here is nearly every (known) trick in the book across many sports:

Well it is hard to look at it innocently any more now.

Thanks for the link.

Very enlightening; that explains a lot.

I would guess they are “taking it out” (as much as they can) in the offseason, when they are training easy, and “putting it back in” during critical points of the key races (tour of the france)
.

Ok so let’s say every one dopes. They have to have a few people around them that know about it, why doesn’t anyone spill the beans? And why do the riders not have needle marks, or are they putting it back in between their toes or something?

People have been spilling the beans!

good god

this is getting up there with the rolling resistance being subjective thing

Where did you ever get the idea that they don’t have needle marks. Many riders routinely get IV saline to rapidly rehydrate inbetween stages. This is a known and legal practice. When a rumor went around last year that an employee of a prominant team was taped dumping empty medical bags and needles in a back alley the excuse was that they were from legal IVs, but that they thought that it would look bad if they were seen disposing of them so they tried to hide it.
