I’m curious how homeowners decide whether to schedule recurring cleaning instead of just booking a deep clean every few months.
For those who have weekly, biweekly, or monthly cleaning, what made you choose that schedule? Has it actually helped keep your home cleaner and reduced the amount of time you spend cleaning between visits, or do you still find yourself doing most of the work?
I’d love to hear what schedule has worked best for your household and why.
We have a lady come every two weeks. She deep cleans the kitchen and the 2.5 bathrooms, vacuums and dusts the stairs and hallways, changes the bedding and then does whatever looks like it needs doing until she hits 4 hours.
We love it. We have three kids, including a teen and pre-teen boy, and we cook a lot so the stovetop and bathrooms get pretty grimey over two weeks. It’s just such a mental reset to have everything properly clean periodically, and a luxury to contract out the worst jobs (I’d rather scrub a toilet than put bedding on a king bed).
We still clean a lot ourselves, including lots of rooms that she doesn’t touch, but I can’t ever see myself going back on this.
