How do I not look like an ethiopian marathoner

I just had my wisdom teeth out along with two “extra” teeth in my lower gums. The doc says I have to be on a liquid diet for at least a week. What should I drink so I don’t wither away (I am already 6’0’’ and 150 lbs) and maintain somewhat of a healthy diet?

I had some injured teeth after a bike accident so did a self-imposed liquid diet because it hurt to chew.

Ensure and accelerade were good just to get the calories in. “Real” food choices included oatmeal, soup, applesauce, mashed potatoes, etc. I suppose you could try baby food or just pureeing some veggies.

the blender is your friend… puree everything, and suck it up, so to speak…

Well, for starters, try not to lose 6" or more in height, and stay outta the sun. :wink:

Try some of those mega-weight-gain powders the bodybuilders use. Or if that is overkill, just some basic meal replacement things like Ensure or Boost in between “meals” (whatever smooth blended sorta thing that ends up being).

I am that exact height and weight so I can relate to not wanting to lose any weight. Sometimes I can’t believe I ran in college 10 lbs lighter.

Try this for some calories.

6 ounces (half a can) of frozen juice concentrate (the best is from dole-strawberry/orange/pineapple, but plain old orange juice will work)

1 cup of strawberries, frozen

some blackberries if you like them

about eight ounces each of milk and water.

Blend it up and add water until it is a drinkable consistency. The juice concetrate is pretty dense calories and better for you than simple sugar based drinks. Plus it tastes great. My whole family loves it.

If you have some protein powder that is a neutral flavor then you can blend that in too.

Run slower than about 2:15 for the marathon. Reason: In Africa, you either run REALLY fast or you don’t run at all.
