I converted a gpx file to crs, but ideally I would like to have it in 3dc format so I can run it in Computrainer 3D. Anyone have experience doing this?
A crs file does not retain information about the turns in your course, so you will never reproduce your ride, turn for turn from a crs. You’ll only get the profile.
worst option 1: just pass the crs into CT 3d and it will randomize some turns for you but keep the course profile true. you will not be able to edit out any anomolies caused by bad GPS data.
Best option: Shoot your gpx file into CyclingPeaks Real3d. It will provide a 3dc true to both profile AND the turns as per your gpx file. It will allow you to edit sections that may have bad gps data, such as when you ducked into the woods for a break. You can smoth the profile and make adjustments to every aspect of the course. It has many other course editing functions not available in CT3d.
So while I’m here and doing this public service…have ya seen ErgVideo? coolest thing for the CT going. Yes it’s mine and I have an interest in the company…but I done ya a favour. www.ergvideo.com.
Okay okay, Real3d is my development too, now owned by trainingpeaks, and yeah I do have a small interest there, still, too. Trainingpeaks have some neat web-based tools too.
