I’m looking for a tri coach and not sure quite where to start. I’m focusing on Olympic distance and the occasional half (1x season). I’m cool with online as opposed to local, but not looking for a cookie-cutter training plan. I’m hoping to be competitive at local and eventually some of the larger races. Any insight on how you found your coach would be appreciated.
I got hooked up with mine through a friend

Contact William at www.coriovelo.com. He coaches all endurance sports and is an Ironman himself. Tell him Scott recommended him. Good Luck.
My coach saw me at a race and was so impressed with my raw talent that he actually approached me after the race and asked if he could coach me…
Just kidding, a friend hooked it up
It sounds like I need to look into these “friends” that you speak of…
Local tri club was how I found mine.
For ME, I’ve tried both online and now local coaching and found that having a very local excellent coach has helped me tremendously. I am sure there are excellent online resources, it is just what worked for me.
I found mine at a Camp in Hawaii. Playtri. They ran the camp and I liked the people and the options. Check them out online…
